Birstwith CE Primary School

To end the school year, we had a huge Forest Rave.  The children moved around the school and the woods to take part in different elements of a festival...Arts and craft, dance, forest fun, face painting and a festival picnic top it off- Great times!! Woop Woop!!

With the assistance of the fabulous Mr Garry Johnson, Mr Roy had his beard removed, having raised a considerable amount of money through crowd funding to raise money to improve the outdoor space at school.  Thank you to all those that supported the endeavour, from school and the wider community! As you will see, Garry reduced the beard through some recognisable styles- namely, Lemmy, Confusius, Mexican, 70's, Hitler- to finish bare faced. The children really enjoyed the spectacle but now think they have a new teacher!!  Nearly £1000 was raised! Thank you so much .

The Birstwith School Choir 2023 had a truly incredible experience at Young Voices 2023! We danced our hearts out, sang with pride and showed how truly wonderful we are here at Birstwith! Our talented choir had been rehearsing for months to prepare for this astonishing event. Each and every one of us had the most wonderful time at Sheffield Arena soaking in the atmosphere and singing with thousands of other children from around the country. Well done Team BW! 

How lovely it was to end the term with a party!  Thank you to everyone that put in that bit of extra jubilee effort to make it such an enjoyable afternoon.  It was wonderful to see so many families come in to the school grouns and support the event.  The cakes were ridiculous! Very popular, and snapped up at the auction- raising over £350 for Birstwith and the Ukranian Appeal.  The children's bunting and portraits really made the show and the country dancing was enjoyed by everyone. Thank you to the PTA, parents, staff, governors and children for making the day memorable and sign of things to come in the future! See you all at the summer fair !!! 

We thought we would make the most of the great weather and the fact that two classes were out on school trips!  So, Class 2 and 3 got together and had some sunny fun, playing rounders and munching their lunch on the grass, dotted around the school field- Happy days
